What to Do

Silverthorne is in the heart of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, just a stone’s throw from the Continental Divide.

We are honored to invite you to one of our most cherished places in the world. Soph grew up coming to the mountains, thanks to her Oma and Opa whose cabin sits at the base of Buffalo Mountain… and Cole has been tagging along since we were 15. For however long you choose to stay, we’ve dropped a list of our favorite things to do + eat in the area. Enjoy!

Eat + Drink

Angry James is an excellent local brewery with top notch beers, a great patio, and a fire pit. Rumor has it the owner, A.J., is in fact a little angry.

Arapahoe Cafe and Pub is a family-owned eatery that serves fan favorite a.m. fare. There’s a downstairs pub if that’s your vibe. Fun fact: The restaurant is housed in an 1800s-era building that was relocated in the 1950s when Old Dillon was flooded to create the reservoir and Dillon Dam.

Blue Moon Bakery quite literally has every pastry you could ask for. Soph can’t imagine her childhood without it. Definitely make this a stop while you are in town.

Cafe Profusion is one of our favorites. Total hole in the wall and takeout only, but the meal is 10/10. Grab a spicy chicken masala and mango anise mousse to go and enjoy it by the shore of Dillon Reservoir.

Explore

Sail the high waters of Dillon Reservoir. Dillon Marina and Frisco Marina both offer kayak, canoe, and pontoon boat rentals. Dillon Marina hosts the perfect walking trail with stellar views of Buffalo Mountain.

Take a family friendly 3.5 mile roundtrip hike to Lily Pad Lake.

The Blue River runs through Silverthorne (and right behind our reception site!) and offers incredible fly fishing. Cutthroat Anglers has guides, tips, and rental gear. Ask for Charlie.

The Frisco Historic Park + Museum is the perfect museum for a slow afternoon. It’s self guided and open to explore at your own pace.

Take a family friendly 7.5 mile roundtrip hike to South Willow Falls.
